‘’Angwamo’’ is one of the most popular dishes in Ghana; quick and easy to prepare and super cost effective. Enjoyed with fried egg, sausages and sardines, it’s comforting, delicious and bursting with so much goodness. A 10/10 recommendation. You can’t help but have a second helping! Don’t mind if I do. Preparation

 

  • Wash rice, drain with clean water in a minute medium bowl.
  • Under medium heat, heat the oil and fry the chopped onions in hot oil in a large saucepan until golden brown. Reserve half of the onion
  • Add rice and fry over medium heat for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add the bouillon cube and stir. Add the hot pepper and mix. Add the water and stir well. Cover with lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the remaining onion and cook again until the rice is soft and tender. Remove from heat. Serve with hot pepper sauce and fried egg, sausage and sardine.
