Keep reading as we explore the ingredients used to make Puff Puff and provide a step-by-step guide on how to prepare it.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- Vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.
- Slowly add the warm water to the bowl, stirring continuously to create a smooth and consistent batter. The batter should be thick and smooth but not too runny or too thick.
- Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let the batter rest for about 30 minutes to an hour. This will allow the yeast to activate and the batter to rise.
- In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You want the oil to be hot but not smoking.
- Use a spoon or scoop to drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
- Fry the Puff Puff for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove the Puff Puff from the pot with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
- Repeat the process until all the batter is used up.
- Serve the Puff Puff hot and enjoy!
