Instructions

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  of yeast
  • ½ cup of salt
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.
  2. Slowly add the warm water to the bowl, stirring continuously to create a smooth and consistent batter. The batter should be thick and smooth but not too runny or too thick.
  3. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let the batter rest for about 30 minutes to an hour. This will allow the yeast to activate and the batter to rise.
  4. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You want the oil to be hot but not smoking.
  5. Use a spoon or scoop to drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
  6. Fry the Puff Puff for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Remove the Puff Puff from the pot with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  8. Repeat the process until all the batter is used up.
  9. Serve the Puff Puff hot and enjoy!
